The Dwarf Jade Bonsai Is Unique and Easy To Grow

If you’re looking for a great little bonsai to give to a beginner or to serve as your starter bonsai, then the Dwarf Jade indoor bonsai tree is exactly what you need. This little bonsai may never get above about 15 inches tall (which is actually a good size for a bonsai, despite the “dwarf” in the name), and it can easily be grown in a very traditional bonsai look.

This bonsai, also called the Portulacaria afra, is a very attractive indoor bonsai that fits in just about any collection or looks great on its own. In fact, it’s a nice bonsai to put on your desk or to display as a centerpiece on your table.

The Dwarf Jade bonsai needs many of the same things that the larger jade bonsai need. While it can stockpile water in its trunk and leaves, it does need a lot of sunlight. The bonsai is used to low lighting, though, so it does need to be slowly moved into full sunlight. Dwarf Jades like it warm in the day, but at night they can handle temperatures of 55 degrees Fahrenheit. However, they shouldn’t be left in temperatures below that for long periods of time.
